Our Mission
Our mission is provide a fun and engaging learning opportunity for all students in order to embolden students to continue or start pursuing their interest in classics and in ancient history, all while having fun. Members do not need to take Latin as a foreign language. No prior experience or knowledge is needed to participate.
Our Motto
Our motto is a translation of the last line from a poem written by Tennyson titled Ulysses: “To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” This quote encaptures the spirit and drive that we as a club hope to encompass.
Our Activities
We will be involved in ACL and NYJCL programs and events including conventions, to meet new and just as passionate people and compete in Certamen, quiz-bowl styled team competitions. We will be participating in the Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Long Island- E Certamens. We also plan to take the Pegasus Mythology Exam and prepare for the National Latin Exam.
